If you share our determination to drive the transition to a low-carbon future, then this could be the job for you. We are currently seeking a Subsea Controls Engineer reporting directly to the Subsea Delivery Manager, to join our team based in Houston, Texas.
Purpose:
- Deliver technical subsea system controls solutions to meet customer project requirements, whilst maximizing execution efficiency and cost effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with company specifications, industry standards, design best practices, internal procedures and project requirements
- Account for the technical deliverable accuracy and integrity.
- Manage interfaces associated with the client project and engineering team as well as client information management systems.
Duties:
- Comply with business values and demonstrate proactive leadership in HSE and quality.
- Drive for innovative solutions to improve Project economics.
- Comply with industry standards (API/ISO), operators standards, internal procedures and project requirements
- Provide technical leadership to a multi-disciplined engineering team with little direct Supervision.
- Create and review engineering deliverable documents
- Ensure all project technical interfaces (internal and external) are identified and successfully managed
- Provide Subsea Control System Technical focal point for projects.
- Coordinate technical meetings with Customer, Suppliers and Contractors as required.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration across the project team
- Develop and align project engineering execution plans (Cost Time Resources, Document Register, Interface Register, Schedule etc.) and continuously monitor to ensure engineering scope is delivered to plan
- Participate in Safety Reviews/HAZOP, Environmental Impact Assessments and Risk Assessments
- Represent Client at Factory Acceptance and Site Integration Tests of new equipment on Contractor's premises; Including but not limited to XT’s, Distribution Systems, Umbilicals, HPUs, MCS’s
- Frame and drive Quality Decisions and resolve any technical issues as they arise.
- Proactively support the disposition Project non ‐ conformances and ensure preventive actions are implemented and lessons learned properly advanced.
- Network effectively with other functions and disciplines in other Regional Business Units
- Champion a continuous improvement mindset.
Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Subsea Engineering with more than 7 years of relevant subsea hardware and/or controls engineering experience.
- Experience delivering Subsea Control Systems for the operation of Integrated Subsea and Pipeline major capital projects.
- Deliverables experience including subsea systems operational requirements, subsea controls project execution plans and subsea system commissioning procedures.
- Experience with the design of hydraulic powered systems, communications system electrical power distribution, subsea connection systems plus chemical injection systems.
- Experience with Offshore subsea control system pre-commissioning.
- Experience with subsea control system expansion, fault finding and life extension of existing subsea control system assets
- Experience with Subsea Production systems tie-in to integrated Topsides Distributive Control Systems.
- Good communication, writing, and presentation skills, and an excellent work ethic and work attitude, organizational skills a must.
- Experience resolving crucial issues and/or unique conditions.
- Must interpret, organize, execute, and coordinates assignments.
- Be a team player.
