OceanTech Jobs are working with a leading manufacturer of oceanographic equipment for application into the environmental, engineering, subsea and offshore markets to assist in the search for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer.
The Systems Division of of our client specialises in the design, build, commissioning and service of real-time data acquisition and monitoring systems for offshore and coastal engineering projects globally.
Due to continued growth, and in order to better serve the increasing needs of the business, our client are looking to recruit an additional Mechanical Engineer to assist with the design, build and maintenance of offshore Metocean monitoring systems.
This post will comprise a combination of both hands on assembly work with some office/ laboratory based duties and a small amount of overseas fieldwork. This is a challenging role, based in the UK office, will encompass varied responsibilities, the key aspects of which are:
- Assist with the design and build of Metocean monitoring systems
- Specifying and procuring equipment
- Testing and integrating equipment
- Configuration and testing of real-time data acquisition software
- Visits to overseas installations to conduct installation, commissioning and maintenance duties
- Assist with the preparation of technical documentation
- Establish technical procedures
- Take an active role in all QA & HSE relating to projects
- Providing remote support to on-site clients
- Clear career progression opportunities
The candidate we have in mind is flexible, stress resistant, has an accurate work practice and a hands-on mentality. The following qualifications and experience is also required:
- Engineering background
- CAD – SolidWorks
- Strong computing and IT knowledge
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written service reports
- Able to work at sea
- Be a team player with excellent communication skills
- Financial/commercial project experience is a bonus
Candidates must be fluent in written and spoken English and confident working at heights and be able to pass stringent security checks.
Our partners are looking to recruit immediately and are offering a competitive salary of up to £32k for the role which will be based 5 days a week in their high tech facility near Portsmouth, UK, they also offer 25 days annual leave, plus additional offshore allowances.
